Life on Pose Photo Competition

AYITI PAP PÈRI

A photography competition created to give young Haitians a voice through photography.

Haiti has many stories to tell. Stories of resilience, culture, creativity, hope, family and everyday life.

We believe Haitians should have the opportunity to tell these stories through their own eyes and their own images.

More than a competition, Life on Pose Photography Competition is a platform for young Haitian photographers to show their talent, share their vision and document Haiti.

We believe photography can change lives. A camera can give someone a voice, create an opportunity and preserve a piece of history.

Each edition has one main theme, with different subjects that allow photographers to explore that theme in their own way.

À propos de Life on Pose

What Is the Life on Pose Photo Competition?

The Life on Pose Photo Competition is more than a contest. It is a cultural and social movement born from the Life on Pose Podcast in collaboration with Frantzy Pierre Photography. At its core, this initiative uses photography as a universal language to tell life stories, preserve identity, and reflect the soul of Haitian communities.

Photography here is not only art. It is voice, action, and responsibility. It allows young people and emerging talents to document their realities, express emotions, and communicate ideas that matter. Participants are not passive observers. They become storytellers, witnesses, and representatives of their communities.

This competition is rooted in the belief that photography can educate, inspire, and unite. A single image can capture truth, spark reflection, and challenge perceptions. Through everyday moments and powerful narratives, photography becomes a tool for awareness, civic engagement, and collective memory.

Each edition of the competition is guided by the central theme Ayiti Pap Pèri, supported by carefully chosen sub themes designed to stimulate creativity and meaningful reflection. These themes encourage photographers to explore resilience, culture, identity, and the lived experiences of Haitian people, both locally and globally.

The Life on Pose Photo Competition is designed to grow into a national competition, where photographers represent their region, city, or community. Each participant enters not only as an individual artist, but also as a representative of their environment. Regional winners will be selected to represent their communities, with the goal of crowning a national winner who embodies the collective vision, strength, and creativity of the nation.

This structure allows the competition to reflect the diversity of Haiti, highlight regional realities, and strengthen the sense of unity through artistic expression. Photography becomes a bridge between communities, creating dialogue and mutual recognition across the country.

The Life on Pose Photo Competition exists to discover new talent, amplify underrepresented voices, and give visibility to stories that deserve to be seen. It is a platform where photographers of all levels can grow, gain recognition, and actively contribute to the cultural and social life of their country.

Beyond the competition itself, this project aims to create long term impact. Future editions will include exhibitions, publications, educational initiatives, and collaborative projects. As the competition evolves, it will gradually open its doors to international photographers, creating cultural exchange while keeping Haiti and Haitian stories at the center of its mission.

Supporting the Life on Pose Photo Competition means supporting a vision where art serves purpose, where creativity builds bridges, and where Haiti is represented with dignity, depth, and authenticity to the world.

This competition is for anyone who believes in storytelling, community, and the power of images to shape narratives, today at a national level and tomorrow on an international stage.
